Dana from Florida is in.
President Obama inherited an America that was wrought with social, economic, and political problems. He has had only a couple of years to begin to work toward getting our country back on track. He (and Congress) have made some difficult yet significant changes to health care, equal rights, and education standards.
We had a female speaker of the House. We have a female secretary of state. We put two females on the U.S. Supreme Court. We repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." And our President talks to us on YouTube and with us on Facebook! The face of our nation is very different. But as a country, we have far to go. Attitudes must be changed, and fears must be quelled. Communication needs to happen, and the people must be educated. We need to come together in compromise, love, and understanding. We need to set goals that we can all work toward.
I am more excited to get involved in the re-election campaign than I was to be involved in the election campaign. I felt a sense of pride and ownership in helping get then-Sen. Obama elected, and I feel the same way now--only more. His job has only just begun. I'm ready. Let's do this!
